Chinese tractor brand Dongfeng’s ZB65 tractor which features a
larger 65hp engine has reached Australian shores via Queensland
distributor Midway Sales.

The new model’s larger horsepower engine means users can perform
more durable tasks around the farm. It possesses the power for a
large four-in-one bucket option with a one-tonne lift capacity,
allowing users to lift more dirt or fit an optional forklift
attachment to move heavy goods.

Users can also drive a wide six-foot slasher to reduce mowing
time and generally fit larger implements to the three-point linkage
due to the 1,200kg lifting capacity.

Prices for the new model start at $21,950, with a four-in-one
bucket model costing $25,950.

Midway Sales Director Scott Spring-Brown says customers can get
their hands on the new tractor without any extra costs that are
added to other brands.

“The Dongfeng range is perfectly streamlined,” he says.

“The tractors are fully assembled and four-in-one bucket models
are factory fitted. They are QC passed in China by our own
full-time quality control staff.”

Spring-Brown explains that once the tractors arrive in
Australia, all they have to do is conduct a final safety check and
the tractors are then ready to be sent off to work.

“There are no middleman dealer costs, no elaborate pre-delivery
charges-just great prices and a great warranty,” he says.

In addition to the ZB 65 there are three smaller models- the
ZB25, ZB35 and ZB45. Prices start at $9,950 without bucket and
$13,950 with four-in-one buckets.

Dongfeng’s ZB range

All Dongfengs are powered by proven direct injected diesel
engines.

The transmission is taken care of with a simple, manual 4-speed
gear box with high and low range. It possesses the same power plant
and drive train that has been utilised in the venerable East Wind
brand which the Dongfeng range came from.

The ZB range comes with a three-point linkage system and PTO
which enables all kinds of implements to be fitted; from slashers
to grader blades to get various jobs done.

Safety is covered with an Australian Certified folding roll-over
protective structure (ROPS), PTO shaft guard and retractable
seatbelt – plus a clutch engaged safety switch to prevent
accidental take offs when starting.

The main feature in this range is the factory fitted four-in-one
bucket. It allows users to scoop, blade, level as well as grab
items.

On top of the standard function of moving soil, gravel and
mulch, the bucket can also be used to scrape soil or grab items by
opening and closing the bucket. Opening the bucket exposes the
blade for scraping and pushing soil while closing the bucket over
an object gives the ability to grab-a handy feature for shifting
branches etc.

The bucket range, which consists of the BL-25, BL-35, BL-45 and
BL-65 has lifting capacities of 350kg, 400kg, 500kg and 1,000kg
respectively.

The ZB tractor range also comes with a self-levelling feature
that Midway Sales claims enhances safety by keeping the bucket
level when raising and lowering the boom. A quick release mechanism
allows the bucket to be removed easily to be replaced with other
attachments.
