Spraying equipment manufacturer Goldacres has added a new member to its self-propelled sprayer family—the Crop Cruiser Evolution 6000 which the company says offers operators more hectares of spraying in between fills.

Goldacres expands self-propelled sprayer range
Goldacres' new Crop Cruiser Evolution 6000 self-propelled sprayer offers farmers more hectares of spraying with its 6000L tank.

According to Goldacres, the new sprayer is one of few available in Australia factory fitted with a 6000 litre tank, which has been custom made to suit a new tank cradle system that is designed to ensure excellent weight distribution on both axles of the machine.

The sprayer was formally released at Goldacres' recent expo held late last month and is supported by a full factory warranty.

Goldacres General Manager Roger Richards says response to the new machine have been "astounding".

"We'd expected the machine to appeal to farmers in the WA wheatbelt and on larger properties, and we haven't been disappointed with orders already coming through, but what has surprised us is the attraction to a 6000 litre capacity machine that comes with a full factory warranty," he says.

"Apparently, there's been no shortage of backyarders willing to weld extra capacity into some sprayer tanks without regard for the chassis strength or the impact the extra load has on running gear - particularly braking systems on hydrostatic drive machines - and that's not to mention clearly voiding the manufacturer's warranty," Richards adds.

Goldacres says while enquiries from Western Australia have been strong, there has also been healthy interest and orders from Eastern states and South Australia.

The Crop Cruiser Evolution 6000 is powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7L six cylinder turbo diesel engine coupled with an Allison 2500 Series five speed auto transmission. Power is delivered to the ground via Goldacres' proprietary direct drive that features heavy-duty dual reduction drive sprockets mounted in the drop legs.

The Crop Cruiser 6000 is available in two or four wheel drive versions.

Richards says the new machine was a direct engineering response to farming demands for self-propelled sprayers to cover more hectares.

"We've previously offered 5200 litre tanks on our self-propelled range but there has been calls for larger tanks to further improve efficiency and productivity," he says.

"Farmers are driven to get spraying done as efficiently and quickly as possible and this new tank will allow them to cover more hectares between fills.

"While the 800 litres of additional capacity might seem easy to add, the weight difference required a re-design of the Crop Cruiser to ensure the machine remains perfectly balanced between front and rear axles loads and that the chassis is capable of delivering full support under working load conditions," he says.

"The result is a machine that we're not only proud to put the Goldacres name to, but one that comes with the security of a factory backed warranty. "

The Crop Cruiser 6000 is fitted with Goldacres' euro style cabin delivering space and comfort. The cabin is fitted with an air suspended seat, clear view glass delivering almost 360 degree vision, auto climate control which is complemented by ergonomically designed joystick sprayer control.

The machine is also available with Goldacres' new 42 metre TriTech boom for further efficiency and productivity.

"We've also maintained our narrow 3.5m folded width meaning the Crop Cruiser 6000 is able to be driven on roads in most states without the need for an escort vehicle," Richards says.

In addition, the new sprayer comes with a 520L rinse water tank, Goldacres' simple to use EZ Control station and Raven 4070 monitor controller, with a Lykketronic option available. The Crop Cruiser is also auto-steer ready.

"Combining 6000 litre capacity with our mechanical drive system means famers can enjoy efficiency at both ends of the spectrum - spraying and performance," Richards says.

"The Crop Cruiser sprays up to three hectares per litre of fuel burned. Add a 6000 litre main tank capacity, high resale values and local service and technical support and farm productivity is heading in the right direction."
