For over a decade, the East Wind brand from Midway Sales has been synonymous with great value utility tractors for lifestyle farmers. The launch of the East Wind G20 now sees Midway Sales enter the compact tractor market for the first time.
According to Midway Sales director, Scott Spring-Brown, the launch is a significant milestone for the industry too. “The G20 is the first genuine compact tractor to come out of China. The G20 is just the right size for smaller lifestyle properties. Compact size makes it more manoeuvrable with a turning radius of 2 metres. Narrower and lower than a utility tractor it will fit through smaller gates and under trees. Lighter weight (1027 kg and 1427 kg with front end loader) means it is less likely to leave tread patterns when driving on lawns.

The combination of 2 speed power take off and dual hydraulic remotes means you can drive all kinds of implements including slashers, rotary hoes, grader blades, wood splitters and even back hoes. The three point linkage system also incorporates quick links. This clever system enables easy attachment of implements without the heavy lifting often needed to precisely align connection points.” said Scott.
The bucket is operated with an Italian designed and manufactured joystick control and valve. The single control enables smooth and precise operation of all front end loader functions. Simple button operation activates the opening and closing of the 4 in 1 bucket. Plus this set up enables the operator to get on and off the machine from either side.
Shuttle shift makes shifting between forward and reverse effortless (12 forward / 12 reverse). This can be a big advantage when shifting material with a front end loader. Having the control mounted next to the steering wheel frees up space giving more room for the operator to move around. Plus you have the advantage of multiple reverse gears which makes it much easier to select an appropriate speed for the conditions. On top of all that you get a synchromesh gear box for easier gear selection and smooth shifting on the move.
