Polaris Hawkeye 400 goes HD

Off-road vehicle specialist Polaris has added the Hawkeye 400 to its heavy duty (HD) ATV line-up, redesigned specifically for the Australian market.

The 2013 Hawkeye 400 2×4 HD is the latest Polaris ATV to be ‘Australianised’ following the  release of the Sportsman 500 HD  earlier this year.

Both models have been developed as a result of a meeting between Polaris Industries USA Management and engineers in Australia and New Zealand late last year to come up with a number of product improvements to better suit Australian conditions and usage.

The new heavy duty Hawkeye 400 will now feature greasable/sealed ball joints, sealed driveshaft spines and sealed suspension bushings to not only provide durability in harsh conditions but also easier maintenance.

Polaris Australia & New Zealand Country Manager Brad Wolstenholme says the new release serves as a testament to Polaris’ commitment to its customers.

“To launch a second Heavy Duty spec model with a number of product improvements specifically for the Australian market shows that Polaris as a manufacturer is listening closely to the needs of our customers and continually evolving products further and further to suit our unique conditions,” he says.

“Polaris has always been known as the ultimate innovators dating way to their inception in 1954, and now that innovation is taking a local flavor with their engineers more than willing to invest the time and resources into delivering the most robust product possible for the Australian market.”

Other features of the Hawkeye 400 HD include a liquid-cooled, 455cc high-output engine, Independent Rear Suspension for a smooth ride, a combined 122kg front and rear rack capacity, 557kg towing capability and disc brakes all around.
