Lely Australia releases new Welger RP545 baler

Following the model’s release overseas in August last year, Lely Australia has brought in the Welger RP545 baler to meet the demands of Australian farmers and contractors.

The model has been named Europe’s largest variable chamber baler.

According to Lely Australia, the new model will feature new ISOBUS electronics, greater durability and a new drawbar which will result in better bale quality and greater baling efficiency compared to previous models.

Its large bale chamber and 2.25m wide camless pickup allows more hay to be fed through while its constant pressure system produces bales of high density.

An E-Link Pro ISOBUS control monitor including a bale shape indicator feature comes standard with the Lely Welger RP545.

The reason for its added durability, Lely Australia says, is the new 50mm double roller Profi bearings fitted in the tensioning system.

All rollers and shafts which forms part of the chamber, are fitted with easily accessible, greasable bearings while the belts, Lely Australia claims, are capable of lasting well over 80,000 bales.

The new E-Link Pro ISOBUS control monitor is more user-friendly with a brighter, clearer setup with plenty of space for information. The display also shows a status bar for left and right filling of the bale chamber, thus preventing poorly shaped bales.

The system is ISOBUS based so any ISOBUS fitted tractor display can be easily connected to the baler, thus allowing the use of the tractor’s control panel to monitor and change baler settings.

All field and customer statistics can be set by the field wizard – a simple guide to gather important data such as the number of bales or hours worked per field or customer. All data can then be exported to other computers using the USB connector, making the information easily accessible and portable.
