Lely unveils new dairy farm management software

Adding to Lely’s Yellow Revolution range of farming products is its new farm management technology, the Lely T4C InHerd.

The software was revealed by Lely Group CEO Alexander van der Lely at an international launch event held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands earlier this month.

According to Lely, the T4C (Time For Cows) InHerd is a modern farm management system that enables the farmer to check where his attention is needed most.

The platform includes eight apps that farmers can download to aid them in their dairy farming tasks.

These tools are:

  • FarmBeats, which shows the actual herd and robot performance of the farm compared to the average for the last week.
  • Today, which shows which tasks need to be done based on scheduled tasks and measurements by different Lely products that are connected to the T4C platform.
  • Cow, which provides data about reproduction, feed intake and milk production of the cow herd.
  • SystemToday, which shows which checks and maintenance tasks a robot needs based on scheduled tasks and measurements by the sensors of the robot.
  • Signals, which warns if ten cows have no milk at one teat or the dead milk time exceeds the setting in T4C.
  • HowTo, the farmer’s ‘personal trainer’ which explains step by step how an action should be carried out.
  • FarmNotes, which makes fast and efficient communication possible between InHerd users within one farm.
  • FarmSetup, the function which user accounts can be created and edited for the different InHerd users on the farm.

Operators running farms with Lely Astronaut milking robots; whether it be Astronaut A2, Astronaut A3 or Astronaut A4 are able to install and operate the T4C InHerd platform.

Lely says it designed the farm management tool platform to help farmers do the right thing at the right time in the right place.

The tools provide real-time insight into performances and cow health, with the hopes of helping farmers achieve higher efficiency and more peace of mind in their work.

According to Lely, the T4C InHerd captures Lely’s best practices in over 20 years of helping dairy farmers run their robotic farms and has been developed with close cooperation with its customers.

The T4C InHerd tools are available on Google Play and the Apple App store and features a free demo mode which works with fictitious data and allows unlimited use.

By activating a three-month trial, farmers with a Lely Astronaut milking robot can try the tools in practice with their own T4C data.

Lely adds the functionality depends on the availability of the latest version of T4C 3.2.9.
