Yamaha introduces new off-highway three-seater

Yamaha Motor Australia has launched its first Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle (ROHV) - the Viking which the company says is suitable for both recreational and agricultural use.
Yamaha says the three-seater off-roader is built tough for Aussie conditions and comes with a three year factory backed warranty and for a limited time, 3 per cent farmer finance.
The vehicle is designed to carry both cargo and passengers.
Some of the main features of the new Yamaha Viking are:
- A 686cc 4-stroke SOHC single-cylinder 4-valve fuel-injected engine developed from the powerplant used in Yamaha’s Grizzly ATV. The engine features a number of improvements from the Grizzly’s including an increased compression ratio, new cam profile and a new single exhaust port design.
- Yamaha’s Ultramatic CVT transmission providing steady performance and stable engine braking.
- Easy engine access for servicing purposes.
- High-capacity 510W alternator with forced oil-cooloing
- Comfortable three seater seats designed to give support to each passenger’s lower waist.
- Easy to adjust passenger grab bar, footrests and three-point seat belts for comfort and safety.
- Flat walk-through floor layout allowing easy access.
- Ergonomically placed controls.
- Full-sized cargo bed measuring 1380x925mmx315mm which can accommodate a pallet and has a carrying capacity of 272kg.
- Cargo bed can be tipped by releasing an unlocking lever allowing easy unloading.
- Independent double wishbone suspension at the front and rear.
