The machine made its debut at the field days and according to GPS Ag Managing Director Luke Schelosky has attracted a lot of attention at the company’s stand, even before the award was announced.

“It is essentially a self-stabilising aerial vehicle that allows us to take aerial imagery of fields, farms, infrastructures etc,” he says.

The unit exhibited on site was the entry level model with four propellers and a GoPro Hero 3 camera while larger models are also available from the company which Schelosky says are able to fly faster and be fitted with larger cameras for more detailed imagery such as thermal and infrared.

The Wimmera Machinery Field Days ran from March 4 to 6.
