Vredestein launches new ground breaking farm tyre

Vredestein’s all-new XXL radial tyre for high horse power tractors is the jewel in its Traxion range crown.

European agricultural tyre specialist Apollo Vredestein BV has released its latest radial tyre, the 710/75R38 Traxion XXL.

With over 100 years of expertisein the agricultural and implement sector, Vredestein is an original equipment manufacturer for many major machinery lines including Claas, New Holland and Case IH.

Based on Vredestein’s existing Traxion radial range, the new 710/75 R38 has been specially developed for tractors with an engine power from 160 hp (120 kW) upwards.

According to Tyremax off-highway tyre specialist Seth Leighton, whose company holds distributorship of Vredestein tyres in Australia, the new 710/75 R38 tyre boasts the Traxion’s best features.

This includes the unique curved lug design which delivers both self-cleaning capability and comfort.

The 710/75R38 also benefits from the Traxion’s trademark large tread widths, flat tread contours and strong, flexible carcass design which provide a large contact surface area and an even distribution of pressure.

“Such features are critical to preserve soil structure and reduce compaction along with ensuring a long tread life,” Leighton says.

In addition, due to its distinctive sizing, the new tyre builds on the strengths of the Traxion range in terms of traction.

“The Traxion achieved a 10 percent slippage rate in an Agrar Technick comparative test undertaken by the company,” Leighton says.

“This result is the highest traction in its class alongside the likes of Continental, Firestone and Trelleborg.”

The 710/75R38’s large air volume allows higher load capacities compared with the more traditional sizes of predecessors such as a 710/70R38.

“With its 2000mm diameter and 1140-litre volume, the 710/75R38 delivers 5.5 per cent more load carrying capacity than its predecessor, the 710/70R38,” Leighton confirms.

If run at lower operational pressures the load carrying capacity increases up to 35 per cent.

The 710/75R38 also has 75 per cent more side wall height compared to the 710/70R38 and 650/65R42.

“This tyre offers increased spring height, which results in a proportionally longer footprint for traction and more comfort while driving,” Leighton says.

He adds farming professionals who select new tyres with maximum diameter and width, often have to replace both tyres and wheels on the front and rear axles of their new machines, which is very costly.

“The Vredestein 710/75R38 Traxion XXL however, can be fitted on the existing rims which is by far a more economical option,” he says.

“Vredestein aims for excellent performance and lowest cost per hour achieved through comfort, traction, fuel efficiency and wear.

“At relatively high speeds (up to 70 km/h) the Traxion 710/75R38 maintains excellent stability, comfort and long lifespan.”

The Vredestein 710/75 R 38 Traxion XXL is available through the Tyremax Pty Ltd tyre dealer network.

Vredestein offers an eight year warranty, including a replacement free of charge if there should be a manufacturing defect within the first year after manufacture.
