Iconic farm equipment company John Deere has introduced the 9R/9RT tractor series for large-scale farmers who need to cover a lot of ground.

John Deere launches rugged new tractor line-up
The 9R and 9RT Tractors feature the new e18 PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager for smooth, efficient shifting to optimise field operations.

The new 9R/9RT series of 4WD tractors from John Deere offers models up to 456 kW of engine power designed for larger growers and tough field conditions.

The range, featuring 10 models with wheels and six tracked models offers industry-leading hydraulic capacity in durable, articulated four-wheel-drive and track tractor platforms.

"These machines are ideal for row-crop applications and large-acre small-grain operations with tough field conditions and hillside terrain, as well as the high-performance demands of the scraper market," says John Deere Waterloo Works Division Marketing Manager Jerry Griffith.

"This is the largest expansion of our top-line four-wheel-drive and track tractor series in company history."

Griffith says John Deere is committed to giving producers choice, so will again adopt a dual-power strategy for the Australian and New Zealand marketplace.

He says both the John Deere PowerTech PSS 9.0L and 13.5L engines and the 15L Cummins QSX15 engine are all US EPA Final Tier 4 compliant.

"They deliver the reliable horsepower and torque required for increased machine performance," Griffith says.

All three engines share a common technology approach to meet the near-zero emissions regulations.

The John Deere PowerTech 9.0L and 13.5L engines are all US EPA Tier 2 compliant and deliver exceptional customer value through economical priced, no fuss power and performance.

"With the addition of the 15L to the 9.0L and 13.5L engine line-up this brings an ideal range of displacement options to the 9R/9RT family with rated power reaching a new height of 456 kW of power, the largest tractor we’ve ever built."

Griffith adds the new, improved e18™ PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager™ featuring on all new 9R/9RT Series offers the smoothest shifting power shift in the market.

"An additional automatic mode has been designed to increase machine fluid efficiency and operator productivity.

"In addition, hydraulic flow has been increased to 435 Lpm (115 gpm), giving these tractors plenty of capacity to handle large implements with ease."

An industry exclusive feature on the 9520R, 9570R and 9620R models is the HydraCushion™ Suspension System.

Located on the front axle, HydraCushion Suspension mitigates power hop and road lope to ensure customers get all of the horsepower to the ground for the highest level of traction.

The CommandView III Cab provides increased operator comfort and ease of operation with a redesigned CommandARM, featuring a John Deere 4600 CommandCenter display for convenient control of tractor functions and settings.

"This puts everything needed to do the job at the operator’s fingertips while sitting in a seat that swivels 40 degrees to reduce strain when viewing rear implements,’ Griffith says.

The new 9R/9RT Series also comes with a new premium LED lighting package for brilliant night-time work illumination.

Optional Active Command Steering, another industry exclusive for four-wheel-drive tractors, provides improved line hold and steering feel at high speeds (40 km/h transport speed) and reduces steering effort in the field.

The new 9R/9RT Series Tractors from John Deere is available to order in Australia and New Zealand now for delivery in early 2015.

Look out for the specifications coming soon.
