Case IH Magnum 380 crowned Tractor of the Year 2015

Case IH’s newest tracked offering, the Magnum Rowtrac 380 has been named the 2015 Tractor of the Year at the recent EIMA International trade fair in Bologna, Italy.

The international agricultural machinery trade event ran from November 12 to 16.

A jury of 23 expert journalists representing major European trade publications came together earlier this year for a series of tests to determine the ultimate winner.

According to Case IH, its Magnum 380 CVT model won the prestigious title thanks to its CVT continuously variable transmission (known as “CVX” in Europe), the easy to use multi-controller armrest, the new LED lighting packages and the “Rowtrac” solution which uses a combination of rear tracks and high-tech low pressure front tyres.

The company says the new tracked solution provides the tractor with greater traction to transfer power to the ground, with minimal soil disturbance compared to standard single-track machines.

The new Magnum Rowtrac range is due to arrive in Australia in early 2015.

Case IH EMEA (Europe, Africa and the Middle East) vice president Matthew Foster, who was present to accept the award, says the company is honoured to have received the coveted title.

“27 years of Magnum tractors means 27 years of approval by the toughest group of testers you can get: farmers in their daily work,” he says.

In addition to the Tractor of the Year award, several other accolades were also handed out at the ceremony including the Best of Specialised award, won by New Holland’s T3.75F compact tractor and a Golden Tractor for Design award, secured by Deutz-Fahr’s 9340 TTV.
