The Agrifac brand is considered a household name in Europe but it has only just been making inroads into the Australian market by attending field days and making demonstration runs around the country with its Condor range of sprayers.

It was the Netherlands-based manufacturer’s first time exhibiting at the Henty Machinery field days 2014. The site was occupied by a 5000L capacity Condor demo sprayer unit with a 46m boom, immediately capturing the attention of passers-by with its larger-than-life presence.

According to Agrifac Sales Manager for Australia Steven Koop, some of the sprayer’s key features are its excellent boom ride, stability, light footprint, and precision spraying.

“You can also run your machine at lower RPMs which equals to fuel savings,” he says.

“Owning costs are also lower and you get better application because of the overall stability of the machine, meaning you get every drop at the right spot.”

The Condor is available with tank capacities of 3,400, 4,000, 5,000 or 8,000 litres, spray booms from 24m to 54m and power options of 286bhp or 325bhp (213kW to 242kW) to save on chemicals and cleaning time.

Agrifac also offers its own integrated Agrifac-GPS as the company found many existing GPS too limited. With the new Agrifac GPS system, nozzles can be individually switched on and off.

While Agrifac is confident in its products, Koop admits the company will be facing some hurdles and stiff competition while promoting its products in Australia.

“The main concern farmers have is they don’t know the brand, it’s all new to them,” Koop says.

“But everyone who drove the machine at the demo days are convinced with the  performance of the machine.”
