Throngs of onlookers were served up a surprise when the Brisbane river lit up on a warm February night, revealing a brand new V12 cylinder Agco-powered Challenger tractor floating on a barge.
The spectacular light and smoke display was put on by Agco as part of a dealer event late last month to celebrate the launch of Challenger’s new E series tracked tractors in Australia.
Agco product manager for Australia and New Zealand Jeremy Duniam says the new E series leads the market in offering maximum traction and minimum compaction.
“The Agco engines will provide a much more fuel efficient alternative to Australian row crop and broadacre farmers,” he says.
“Commitment to our customers remains our number one priority.”
Challengers’ nationwide network of dealers was invited to attend information sessions at Agco’s brand new facility in Crestmead, Queensland to learn more about the new E series.
To mark the occasion, Agco rolled out a limited-edition Challenger MT775E Stealth model featuring matte black livery and is one of 28 units available worldwide.
The striking unit is the last of the Stealth models to be released and the first to arrive on Australian shores. Agco says the model will go on to the market immediately and the company is expecting customers to pay a premium price for the unique machine.
Agco North America high horsepower tractors product manager Tom Turner flew out from the US for the event and was on-site to brief dealers about the benefits of the E series.
“The Agco engines in the E series have maintained all levels of torque of previous engines but with massive improvements in fuel efficiency and reduction in maintenance costs,” he says.
“Our commitment to our Australian customers is ongoing and we are continually looking for ways to improve the Challenger brand”.
