Amazone unveils new Cenius TX trailed cultivators

Tillage and seeding equipment specialist Amazone has expanded its range of trailed mulch cultivators to include two new models from the TX range.

The new Cenius 5003-2TX and 4003-2TX, which features 5m and 4m working widths respectively, can be configured with a range of shares, discs, rollers and drills to enable a range of tillage operations; from shallow stubble corporation to one-pass cultivation.

Both models, which are suitable for towing by mid-range tractors, feature four rows of tines arranged in a staggered layout to achieve a 28cm row spacing. The 80cm frame height ensures good trash flow.

The Cenius TX range can be configured with two tine overload systems: the C-Mix Super and C-Mix Special.

The C-Mix Super tines incorporate a pressurised spring assembly with a release force of 600kg and a 300mm lifting height for uniform performance even under tough operating conditions.

The C-Mix Special tines, on the other hand, have a shear bolt safety device, making them more suitable for medium to light soils.

Both systems can be equipped with a range of hard-wearing shares, including 350mm wing shares; 80mm tips and 80mm tips with guide plates; to suit a range of cultivation options and working depths from eight to 30cm.

An additional row of serrated levelling discs mounted behind the tines creates a smooth soil surface.

Depth guidance is achieved via the support wheels at the front of the implement and the rear-mounted roller.

Amazone product manager Craig Hopkins says the TX models can be fitted with either a wedge ring, knife, tandem or cage roller to crumble and/or reconsolidate the soil, depending on the soil conditions.

“The depth adjustment of the support wheels and roller are synchronised via a double-acting hydraulic system,” he says.

“Alternatively, the running gear can be used to control depth if the roller is not fitted.”

The machine is raised via the hydraulic drawbar.

An optional traction control system improves traction for the rear tyres of the tractor.

“When activated, this system transfers up to 1500kg of the machine’s weight to the rear axle, thereby improving traction and reducing fuel consumption,” Hopkins says.

Amazone says all four models in the Cenius TX series – 4003-2TX, 5003-2TX, 6003-2TX and 7003-2TX feature integrated centre-mounted running gear for improved manoeuvrability.

“In combination with the 550/45-22.5 tyres and hydraulic braking, road transport speeds of 40km/h is possible,” Hopkins says.
