Get ready for a tractor spectacular in this issue, on-sale May 25, in the form of our 2015 Top Tractor Shootout where we put six brands head-to-head in a bid to find the best value for money offering.
Presented to you by Commonwealth Bank and hosted by New Farm Machinery and New Zealand sister title Farm Trader, the 2015 Top Tractor Shootout put the machinery and equipment through their paces in a tough working environment at the Kirwee South Island Agricultural Field Days.
Placing the price cap at $140,000, tractor experts and keen enthusiasts Jaiden Drought, Brent Lilley and Mark Fouhy from Farm Trader along with New Farm Machinery’s Tom Dickson had many a heated discussion about which would be crowned the ‘best value for money’.
At the end of the day the judges agreed the mighty Massey made the grade in terms of the best value for money tractor under $140,000.
"The Massey Ferguson 7615 Dyna-6 is a good looking, well designed tractor, with many features which we did not take full advantage of on the day. However, there is no doubt that it stood out from the crowd," Drought writes.
