Amazone launches Certos TX disc harrow

Amazone has released the Certos TX series of cultivators describing it as a 'powerful all-rounder' capable of a variety of applications

Amazone says the latest series of trailed compact disc harrows reflects the company’s continuing expansion in the market for high performance cultivators.

Available in working widths of 4, 5, 6 and 7 metres, Certos TX models feature two rows of oversized 660mm serrated discs that enable precise working depths from 7 to 20cm.

Amazone Product Manager, Craig Hopkins, says Certos is suitable for a wide range of operating conditions.

“Certos can be used for breaking up hard fallow and pastures right through to deep incorporation or the preparation of fine seedbeds at operational speeds up to 15 km/h,” he says.

“It can also be fitted with the optional GreenDrill seeder box for one-pass tillage and sowing operations.”

Hopkins says Certos offset discs utilise a more ‘aggressive’ disc angle than that of the previous Catros series.

“Whereas the discs on Catros are set at 17 degrees, on Certos they are set at 22 degrees.

“This generates a strong penetrative force down into the soil to thoroughly incorporate trash, even in heavy soils with plenty of organic matter.”

Each disc is individually suspended on the frame via an elastic rubber spring element, allowing it to follow ground contours and ensuring optimum passage of trash.

“The disc diameter, angle and 350mm disc spacing have been carefully selected to maximise cutting, incorporation and passage, even in high trash conditions,” Hopkins adds.

Like the smaller Catros series of compact disc harrows, Certos features 130mm diameter maintenance-free disc bearings that incorporate an integrated slide seal with an oil-filled hub.

“These seals eliminate the need for maintenance and keep running costs to a minimum,” Hopkins says.

Accurate depth control is maintained via the front support wheels and rear roller. Stepless setting of the working depth is carried out hydraulically from the cabin.

Hopkins says the indicator for the working depth is easily visible from the tractor seat, enabling easy monitoring and adjustment on-the-go,”

“The centre-mounted running gear, equipped with 550/45-11.5 or 400/60-22.5 tyres, ensures excellent manoeuvrability both in the field and on the road.

“The position of the running gear guarantees good weight distribution and allows the use of different following rollers to best suit soil conditions,” he says.

In addition, each model can be equipped with optional hydraulic or air brakes, enabling road speeds of up to 40km/h, while the drawbar shock absorber system eliminates jolts during operation and transport.

An optional crushboard can be adjusted manually via the centralised spindles on either side of the machine, or from within the cabin using the optional hydraulic control.

Certos TX can be equipped with a range of quick-change 650mm wedge ring, 580mm double-U, cage, tandem or knife ring rollers for site-specific crumbling and reconsolidation.

“The large distance between the two rows and the following roller allows the soil to settle between the soil tillage and reconsolidation,” Hopkins says.
