Topcon Precision Agriculture regional sales manager for Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand Luke Young says the unit’s ability to plug into and work with any screen on the market, not just Topcon’s, is what sets it apart from other similar technologies.

“Farmers can just put our ECU on and it’ll work with his existing system through ISO,” he says.

“What sets us apart is the ISO side of things, it’ll plug into any screen on the market and give you full functionality of your seeder such as seed control, handling multiple bins at the same time, joining bins together and very accurate rate control. “

The Apollo ECU is designed to work hand in hand with Topcon’s X30 console in conjunction with its Horizon software to offer users total seeding control in an easy-to-use format.

Apollo offers up to eight product control channels and can run variable rate control on all eight simultaneously including liquid, dry and ammonia.

It offers section control for dry, liquid or ammonia on each boom independently, and optional blockage monitoring of over 100 lines.

Young says he hopes the award will spread the word further about Topcon and the work it is doing.

“Winning the award means a lot, it means we are talked about and people are recognising our company and what we do, which is driving farm profitability through technology made easy,” he says.
