The 60 series was officially announced last year, and will be replacing the 40 and 50 series.

Flexi-Coil’s brand leader Steve Mulder says the trend towards bigger farm sizes is driving demand for high capacity seeding equipment, leading to the design of its 60 series air carts.

“The Flexi-Coil 60 series is designed to deliver higher yields through increased productivity, efficiency and accuracy, and it sets a new standard in reliable seeding,” he says.

Six air carts with capacities of 15,329 litres, 19,558 litres, 20,439 litres and 26,782 litres are currently on their way to Australia for demonstrations in April.

Customers in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia will get the chance to see the machines in action.

The new models include patent-pending features that Flexi-Coil says put them ahead of its competitors, but are still easy to operate.

A new distribution system on the series has been designed to deliver greater application accuracy and gentler seed handling, with simple variable rate application and full section control.

The 60 series’ FlexRate sectional control allows the operator to individually control up to 10 sections of the air cart for improved application accuracy and eliminates double applications of seed and fertiliser.

Each metering system is operated by an independent patented 24-volt electric drive motor with integrated controls.

Seed and fertiliser can be applied in single-shoot or double-shoot application with the FlexRateTM modular metering system.

Flexi-Coil says the FlexRateTM system is easy to use and delivers great flexibility. The operator can utilise preloaded prescription maps using the task controller and a GPS input.

The 60 series features tanks with large openings and low-profile lids; an offset platform and a folding staircase designed to allow for fast, easy and safe filling and emptying of seeds and fertiliser.

Some models include a fast fill conveyor with remote control and a pneumatic fill system for the small seeds tank.

“The remote controlled conveyor on the 5560, 5860, 7660 and 9560 tow behind models works extremely well,” Mulder says.

“It is user friendly and makes filling quick and easy, so you get maximum productivity out of it.”

The 60 series has capacities ranging from 12,234 litres to 33,477 litres and is available in tow-between or tow-behind configurations.

“The response from our dealer network to the 60 series air carts has been extremely positive and we certainly anticipate a lot of interest from growers who will want to forward order now to secure the new model for their seeding in 2017,” Mulder says.
