Inside Farms and Farm Machinery April 2016 issue

On-sale March 17, Farms and Farm Machinery magazine issue 331 looks at how innovative new technology such as the Spider ILD02 remote controlled lawn mower is revolutionising the ground care and farming industry.

FFM’s Tom Dickson caught up with ANC Industries’ Andrew Mehaffy who has been using the machine for commercial, government and private uses, especially for mowing on steep and sloping lawns.

In addition to being fun to use, the Spider ILD02 offers a safe and efficient mowing solution to avoid rollovers when mowing on slopes.

After taking it for a spin, Tom reckons it’s so easy and safe to use that mowing will no longer be a chore with the Spider. Don’t miss the full review in this issue and watch the video here.

Also, Tom checked out a little-known tractor brand that he thinks has the potential to make a big splash in the market.

Tong Yang Moolsan (TYM) is based in Seoul, South Korea, and began manufacturing tractors in 1960. In July 2011 Inlon was appointed the exclusive Australian distributor of TYM tractors and FFM was given the opportunity recently to test one of its newest models, the T1003.

In addition to being a very sleek-looking tractor, it is also simple to use, affordable and is just an efficient all-rounder that gets the job done around the farm. However, the tractor is not without some flaws that could use some fixing up.

Check out Tom’s full appraisal of the TYM T1003 tractor in this edition. Watch the video review.

Other machinery reviews featured in this issue include:

Col Jackson headed to New Zealand to check out a new variety of apple, the Koru which was discovered by accident and turns out to be a fluke of nature with outstanding credentials.

Col’s initial reaction was “Oh yeah, just another modified apple,” but it wasn’t until he took a bite of the Koru apple that he changed his mind completely.

It’s not only tasty, juicy and crunchy on its own, but certain varieties of the Koru can be crushed into juice which makes for a refreshing drink.
