Claas S10 terminal now ISOBUS compatible

Claas has improved the functionality of the S10 terminal used in Arion, Axion and Xerion tractors so it can multi-task with ISOBUS implements.

The terminal will be able to control any ISOBUS-compatible equipment at the same time as it operates the tractor’s steering system, as standard with all 2017-delivered machines or as an optional retrofit to existing terminals.

As well as steering, implements, and cameras, the S10 is also now able to control Claas Task Management and Section Control features.

CLAAS Harvest Centre precision farming group product manager Travis Ryan-Salter says Section Control automatically manages sections during spraying, spreading or drilling operations to prevent overlapping.

“There are also adjustment options available for working in odd-shaped paddocks, around obstacles or on headlands,” Ryan-Salter says.

He adds that contractors and large-scale operators will find the Task Management function particularly interesting.

“Detailed operating orders for individual sections can be created using the Task Management program on an office computer and then transferred to the tractor,” he says.

“If necessary, the operator can change and optimise the task data via the S10 terminal.

“TC Geo enables the variable rate application of fertiliser or crop protection products. Operating data can then be transferred back to the office computer to create proof-of-placement maps.”

The S10’s 10.4-inch (264mm) touchscreen is able to display multiple application screens when they are required, as well as a favourites menu which can be programmed with up to 12 functions for easy access by the operator.
