PFG Australia has introduced the JayLor 5275 Mini-Mixer Wagon, a compact but efficient machine designed to provide rations in circumstances where its larger brothers are too big.

Requiring only a 45hp tractor, the 5275 uses an 8.5-cubic-metre twin auger mixer  to process round or square bales into a total mixed ration (TMR) – technology which is already in use on dairy farms and a variety of livestock and feedlot operations throughout Australia.

PFG says the new Mini-Mixer Wagon is designed to provide quality feed to those with smaller operations, when feeding specialty groups such as weaned calves or dry cows, or simply where space is limited.

“Compared to its big brothers it loses nothing in power, strength and durability while doing its job using a minimum horsepower of 45hp,” the company says. “It has the lowest horsepower requirement of any TMR mixer in its class [and] achieves a PTO speed of 540rpm and an auger speed of 41rpm.”

The 5275 has a capacity of 8.5 10.6 cubic metres, with JayLor’s patented twin, square-cut augers able to process 1.5 x 1.2m rounds or 2.5 x 1.2 x 1.2m square bales.

“The two JayLor patented square cut augers are fundamental to the mixer’s ability to quickly process baled forage into a uniform mix that resists sorting when consumed,” PFG says.

“The 5275 carries the heavy-duty build and the design features of its big brothers,” the company adds. “Its ultra-low loading height of 2.1m adds the advantage of being able to use small skid steers for loading, as well providing clear vision over the top of the wagon for easier navigation.”

The JayLor 5275 Mini-Mixer Wagon is 5.4m long and has a drum width of 1.9m. It comes with a 5-year comprehensive warranty of the frame, a 4-year warranty of the weighing system and a 1-year warranty on all other components of the mixer.
