The new arrangement is effective 1 July, 2017 and covers the Australian and New Zealand markets as well as Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and French Polynesia.

JDPS is John Deere’s off-highway diesel engine and drivetrain components division, manufacturing engines and components for the agricultural, forestry, marine and construction industries as well as OEM customers around the world.

JDPS manufactures industrial engines from 30 to 448kW and marine engines from 56kW to 559kW. JDPS also offers global support and parts backup to customers through its network of over 4000 dealerships worldwide.

Power Equipment has been in equipment business for around 27 years and is also currently the Australasian distributor of Yanmar industrial and marine engines. Power Equipment also holds the distribution rights to PSS shaft seals, Mase and Northern Lights marine generators, Gori propellers, Torqeedo electric outboard motors and the Oxe diesel outboard motor.

Power Equipment says it attributes much of its success to acquiring distribution rights for quality products, and backing that up with professional servicing and parts support for customers.

JDPS says the addition of Power Equipment’s extensive dealer and branch network represents a chance for the division to greatly expand its footprint in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
