The new Truganina facility was launched last week in front of dealers and buyers by Poettinger Australia managing director Eva-Maria Heikenwaelder.

Since establishing in Australia in 2008, the Austrian company has sold over 1500 machines here. This success is what has driven Poettinger to secure the new facility to meet the market’s growing needs.

"We needed to stock more parts and more machines and we didn’t have enough space in the old facility," Heikenwaelder tells TradeFarmMachinery.com.au.

The new facility is a 1,400-square-meter warehousing space with modern office facilities.

Heikenwaelder says the larger facility means more space for products and parts.

"The old facility was about half the size of what we have now and we just needed to stock more parts and more machines," she says. "The new facility has double the area for spare parts.

"This allows us to better serve the market, and to be able to react as quickly as possible to any customer demands."

Poettinger has roughly 35 dealerships across the country and has experienced serious growth over the last two years on the back of strong farm machinery sales across Australia.

The company saw a 40 percent increase in turnover in 2016, which follows an increase of 28 percent the year before, Heikenwaelder says.

"It was a really impressive year," she says. "We felt like we couldn’t bring enough machines in. In fact, the moment we talked about getting more machines they were already sold."

Heikenwaelder says Poettinger is confident this year will be another success.

Back home in Europe, Poettinger is currently upgrading its current facility with a new production line and has also unveiled a new spare-parts logistics centre where it can send out close to 800 deliveries each day.

Poettinger also has plans to open a plant able to build its line of balers and loader wagons.
