You’ll be able to see the T8 driverless tractor, which was unveiled last year at the Farm Progress Show in the United States, at the AgQuip, Henty, Yorke Peninsula and Elmore field days.

"We are excited to showcase this exciting new concept to the Australian market, and make it accessible to a large audience," New Holland national product manager Tony Peters says.

Celebrating 100 years of New Holland tractors, the iconic brand will be going up against another tractor giant, Case IH, which is also showcasing its autonomous ACV tractor at AgQuip.

"We are eager to get the tractor in front of as many people as possible to not only showcase the technology, but provide an insight into the brands focus for the future as part of our commitment to sustainability and efficiency," Peters says.

New Holland’s T8 has the capacity to reach the fields autonomously via private on-farm tracks, and can work together with other autonomous or traditional operator-controlled machines.

Unlike the Case IH ACV, the T8 tractor looks like your standard tractor and can still be driven, ensuring maximum flexibility for the operator.

The tractor was developed by CNH Industrial in collaboration with Utah-based Autonomous Solutions Incorporated (ASI), and New Holland believes it will give visitors to its show stands a glimpse into the future of autonomous farming.

"The New Holland NH Drive autonomous tractor is an unmanned vehicle that is fully autonomous and can be monitored and controlled via a desktop computer or via a portable tablet interface," Peters says.

He says this enables farmers to access tractor and implement data, wherever they are, from different locations, while checking fields or tending livestock from the comfort of their ute or at home, anytime they need to.

"This facilitates right-time decision making to enhance operational efficiency and productivity," Peters adds. "Furthermore, farmers will maintain full control and ownership of their data."
