The Riverina-manufactured All Rounder is the first of its kind and is an entrant in this year’s popular Henty Machine of the Year Award.

"The All Rounder functions as a chaser bin at harvest time, a seed-super unit at sowing time and a fertiliser spreader throughout the year," Coolamon Chaser Bins general manager Heath Hutcheon says.

"The All Rounder effectively replaces two other machines in the machinery shed. It decreases capital expenditure and cuts operating costs due to hiring machines or paying contractors, while the large volume spreading option allows growers to increase production.

"The All Rounder gives the grower the ability to spread two different variable rates at once, reducing spreading passes," Hutcheon adds.

Currently in production, the All Rounder will come in four models – 22, 28, 34 and 40 tonnes – and will make its public debut at the Henty Machinery Field Days on September 19-21.

"In this machine and everything we design, we are always looking to the market and what farmers want us to deliver,’’ Hutcheon says. "The All Rounder has already captured the attention of the industry."

During harvest time, the Coolamon All Rounder will function as a hydraulically operated chaser bin. Its large dropper box transfers grain from the conveyor belt to the dual delivery augers.

The All Rounder comes equipped with dual 14-inch unloading augers, and an 800mm wide troughed conveyor belt.

Its spreader is driven by Haze Ag 600mm twin spinners which feed out from the machine’s rear hopper.

"We have partnered with Richard Hazelton from Haze Ag as we see synergies in our products that are both leading-edge and ahead of the industry," Hutcheon says.

"We wanted to redesign how a conventional seed-super unit was done, and the way we did that was to use a conveyor belt, with the two augers out the front so it looked like a conventional chaser bin."

The All Rounder has a transport width of under 3.5m.

Its rear steering option helps with its turning circle, reducing the laneway and paddock damage that occurs with fixed wheels.

Buyers will have the option of a tracked undercarriage system which is designed to reduce ground pressure between 60 and 70 percent compared to traditional tyre systems, and maximise ground contact and support over uneven terrain.

Other standard options include weight scales, rear steering, side delivery chute, right hand delivery auger, flotation tyres, light pack and camera pack.

The All Rounder will be showcasing its abilities throughout the country in the coming months, Coolamon says.
