Agritechnica 2017 | Pottinger introduce new Servo 45M plough

Austrian machinery manufacturer Pottinger has introduced its new-version Servo 45M plough designed for tractors between 140 and 240hp

Pottinger claims that wheel slip is minimised when using the latest Servo 45M and fuel consumption is reduced by up to two litres per hectare.

These new mounted reversible ploughs will be available in December 2017 as four-furrow and five-furrow models.

They are offered in three versions as Plus (with hydraulic furrow width adjustment), Nova (with hydraulic trip legs and a triggering pressure of 1900kg) and Nova Plus.

The new series is available with an inter-body spacing of 95cm or 102cm and an under-beam clearance of 80cm, or 90cm as an option.

The traction control expansion module enables the weight of the Servo 45M to be transferred to the tractor. Transmitting force through the traction system optimises the ground tracking of the plough while applying a permanent load to the tractor’s rear wheels.

There is also no need for ballast on the rear wheels of the tractor as a front ballast weight is enough. This is because the weight of the plough is transmitted so that the rear tractor wheels are under constant pressure.

The new Servo 45M has a reduced number of greasing points to minimise maintenance requirements. In addition, all replaceable bar points feature armouring as standard, making a considerable increase to their service life and cost effectiveness.

At the show, the plough was priced at €24,000 (about A$37,000) plus taxes but was subject to additional costs of exports.

Agritechnica ran from November 12-18, 2017 in Hanover, Germany. Not all products launched at the event will be available in Australia
