John Deere has added two new models to its Gator XUV range of UTVs – the petrol-powered Gator XUV835 and diesel-powered Gator XUV865 Utility.

The company says the full-sized UTVs are designed for farmers and graziers “who need all-day comfort with off-road terrain capability in all seasons” and offer its quietest cab, three-wide seating, heating and air conditioning.
“The new Gator XUV models combine versatility, durability and comfort into a machine that can increase productivity in all types of conditions,” John Deere marketing manager Mark Davey says.
“They are workhorses that can tackle any job with features designed to save farmers time and energy.”

For operators with diverse terrain, the 40kW (54hp) XUV835 and 17kW (23hp) XUV865 offer tight turning and good weight distribution for improved off-road performance. The XUV835 reaches speeds of over 72 km/h and the XUV865 offers a top speed of over 48 km/h.
Other features include compatibility with a wide range of attachments and a large, 41.5-litre fuel tank to keep the vehicle running longer between fill-ups.
“As the first units in the Gator family to have three-wide seating, the new XUV835 and XUV865 include an adjustable driver’s seat, ample legroom and tilt steering to reduce operator fatigue during long workdays in the field,” John Deere says.

The cab is said to be quieter through the use of noise isolation and sound dampening features. The aircon provides cooler operating conditions in the summer, while the heater does what it says and also defrosts the windshield.
“The new vehicles also deliver sleek styling and increased payload capacity with a versatile, durable cargo box,” John Deere says. “Combined with a towing capacity of up to 907kg and 60 litres of storage, producers can haul more in less time.”
The XUV835R and XUV865R R trim level also includes upgraded attachment-ready wiring to allow quicker installation of roof lights or other electrical attachments, plus the R models come standard with bright, long-lasting LED headlights.
