Aqueous Urea, commonly known as AdBlue or AUS32, is a diesel exhaust fluid used to convert harmful NOx emissions from truck or tractor exhausts into nitrogen and steam to reduce emissions.

While not classified as a dangerous substance, AUS32 can be corrosive to some metals, plastics and hoses which can potentially contaminate truck catalysers.

Silvan says the consumption rate is 5 litres of AUS32 to every 100 litres of diesel used.

Silvan’s AdBlue transfer unit features a 200-litre Polytuff ultra-violet-stablised storage tank with a 12-volt powered 35-litre-per-minute open flow self-priming diaphragm transfer pump, complete with a manual shut off nozzle and a 4m delivery hose.

The pump also allows sufficient time for the power to be switched off after delivery has ceased to avoid damaging it.

Additionally, the unit is supplied with a 3m length of power cable fitted with alligator clips ready for connection to a battery source.

Silvan Selecta merchandise manager Michael Frost says the AdBlue solution is supplied in a range of delivery options.

“With increasing use we detected there was an on-farm, on-depot or on-site need for AdBlue users to have a convenient means to break down bulk supplies or for the transfer of the solution into the separate supply tanks on tractors,” Frost says. “So Silvan has responded with this convenient scale and self-contained transfer unit.

“With a recommended retail price of $699 and available nationally from Silvan and Selecta resellers we believe we have met an industry need,” Frost adds.
