The two initial models, with working widths of 1.47m and 1.77m, are ideal for 75hp tractors with a Category I or II three-point linkage.

Silvan says both models can be connected to the tractor with a centre or offset mount of up to 200mm.

The medium-duty slasher range has a new-shaped deck made of 5mm-thick hot-dip galvanised steel. Silvan says its ‘clean angled design’ will not allow moisture or the slashed material to accumulate on the surface and eventually create rust and deteriorate.

The gearbox and PTO shaft driveline is a high-quality BareCo unit and is supplied with fully compliant guarding of the moving parts and a two-year warranty.

The BareCo gear box drives a three-leaf rotor bar fitted with hardened bushes to which two Boron steel twist lift blades are fixed. This ensures a long working life for the principal cutting component of the unit.

There is also a 250mm two-plate friction clutch that gives further mechanical protection if an immovable object is struck.

The hitch for attachment to the tractor linkage points also readily folds down.

Working heights can be adjusted to a range of 20 to 80mm, making the medium duty slasher perfect for grassed ovals, sports fields or lawn areas, or a higher cut to maintain taller vegetation or growth.

Other features of the medium duty slasher include the front and rear deck chain guards to reduce the risk of rocks or similar materials shooting out from beneath the slasher deck.
