JCB says the new 5CX backhoe loader has all the engine power, torque, traction and pushing power needed for even the most arduous of waste rehandling applications.

The 5CX is powered by an 87kW JCB DieselMax, which is the most powerful engine ever fitted to a JCB backhoe loader. Limited slip differentials increase traction and make power delivery more efficient while low ration first and second gears provide smooth changes and good fuel efficiency.

Inside the 5CX cab, the operators’ environment has been inspired by automotive cockpits to provide drivers with familiar ergonomics. Power brakes enable safe, efficient stopping power with minimal pedal effort. Ergonomic seat-mounted excavator-style controls provide fingertip control, great comfort and excellent manoeuvrability.

The seat-mounted excavator-style controls feature an LCD panel detailing machine hours, service information fuel level and system warnings. A 360° view through tinted windows aids comfort, productivity and safety. In particular, the scoop design one-piece rear windscreen allows operators to see right into the trench when excavating.

The heavy-duty chassis on the 5CX backhoe has a reinforced front axle mount to handle large lifting forces, while heavy-duty arms reinforced around the pins and shovel enable a much larger reach. A large 1.4 cubic metre shovel and massive 6590kgf shovel breakout makes rehandling faster.

The 5CX has a dig depth of 6.51m which is the deepest of any JCB backhoe and the loader’s all-wheel-steering makes manoeuvring the machine a breeze.

A number of optional attachments are available for the 5CX including a 6-in-1 shovel, stabiliser legs, waste multishovel, hook lift frame, sweeper collector, quick hitch, jaw bucket and compactor wheel.
