Polaris has issued a recall notice on a number of its side-by-side vehicles due to a build defect

Some 2018 Ranger 500/570 and EV/EV Li-Ion vehicles have been recalled

The affected models include the 2018 Ranger 500, 570 and 570 Crew, plus the EV and EV Li-Ion vehicles.

The defect has been identified as an improperly welded lower control arm. This control arm can reportedly separate from the strut mount, affecting the steering of the vehicle, increasing the risk of secondary collision.

Polaris is asking customers not to operate vehicles until inspections and repairs are completed by a Polaris dealer. Vehicles affected were available for purchase from September 1, 2017 to September 6, 2018.

Polaris says it will write and notify all affected consumers of required action. Please contact your local Polaris ATV dealer to schedule an inspection and have repairs completed.
