Landini and its Rex 4 tractor has won the EIMA Technical Innovation Award 2018 for its Advanced Driving System
The Italian manufacturer says the award further validates the hard work it has put into research in order to improve comfort, safety and performance.
A specialty tractor for vineyards and orchards, the Rex 4 (which TradeFarmMachinery will be reviewing in February) and its ADS makes it easier for operators to control and manage operations through mechatronic technologies.
“The operator is free to concentrate on row operations, while the tractor ECU takes care of driving, recording hours of operation, consumption and service requirements, thanks to the IoT service, a world premiere in specialty tractors,” Landini says.
The Rex 4’s ADS also offers connection to satellite guidance, wheel position memorisation and control during slope and in-furrow operation.
This type of technology is normally seen on open field tractors, making the Landini Rex 4 something special.
“The creation combines various innovative solutions that make driving more comfortable for the operator and allow greater concentration on the work being carried out,” EIMA Technical Innovation Contest says.
The Landini Rex 4 was also nominated for the Tractor of the Year award in the Specialized Tractor category, but lost to the Same Frutteto CVT 115 S.
Stay tuned for more on the Landini Rex 4.
