Claas celebrates 150,000 tractors

German manufacturer Claas has celebrated the production of its 150,000th tractor after acquiring acquiring the Renault brand in 2003.

German manufacturer Claas  has celebrated the production of its 150,000^th tractor after acquiring acquiring the Renault brand in 2003.

To mark the occasion, Claas will offer special edition versions of its Axion 870 and an Arion 660 to customers.

The company says both models will feature top-of-the-line specs, such as the brand’s CMATIC continuously variable transmission, front axle suspension, four-point cab suspension, the CEBIS operating system and cab features like leather trim.

The special edition models will also feature a metallic paint job and decals.

Since acquiring Renault, Claas has certainly put tractors at the top of its agenda, investing over $1 billion in improving its tractor research, development and manufacturing capabilities over the past decade. 

“These include the ongoing redevelopment of its tractor manufacturing plant and testing facility in France and the construction of a new transmission plant in Germany,” Claas Harvest Centre product manager Dave Knowles says.
