PFG expands Vicon baler offering
The Vicon RV5200 Variable Chamber Baler has numerous time saving features

After three years of selling the Vicon RV5116 variable baler across the country, distributor PFG Australia will expand its offering from the manufacturer with a group of new models.

Spokesman for PFG's grass division Brendan Lee says the company has been experiencing a rise in demand for heavy duty, versatile silage balers among professional buyers.

"The Vicon RV5200 range is well established overseas and will be a good fit for our market," he says.

Vicon launched its 5 Series of balers back in 2015. Check out our story from the launch here

The Vicon RV5216R and SuperCut14 models will be available with variable bale dimensions from 0.6m to 1.65m, and if larger 2m bales are required the RV5220R and SC14/25 models are available on indent.

These heavy duty, high performance, variable chamber balers are high spec and highly versatile, with numerous time saving features, says PFG Australia.

Both models offer intelligent baling, with a clean raking 2.2m, five-tine bar pickup, a choice of intake, a programmable multi-chambered bale density system and user-friendly ISOBUS compatible controls.

As previously mentioned, the two models provide for bale diameters between 0.6m and 1.65m and 0.6m to 2m. The bale diameter is easily adjusted through the control terminal.

PFG says the balers' PowerBind Net Wrap System is one of the fastest net wrap actions available - extending the net beyond the edge of the bale to allow a perfect wrap every time.

Setting and selecting the correct bale density, according to the crop and its condition, is simple using preselected bale settings. Customising bale density is achieved using three separate zones to match individual requirements.

With the Intelligent Density 3D System, pressure can be reduced in the centre and mid zones for wet silage. Hay bales can be made with a soft centre with gradually increased pressure towards the outside, whilst maximum pressure can be applied if the requirement is for heavy bales from dry straw.

These models have a wide, but small diameter 2.2m pick-up reel, which is ideal for all lengths of crop, PFG says. With five rows of tines and twin cam tracks, throughput is fast and efficient. The crop roller is standard.

The RV5216SC model has 14 knives with a chopping length of 70mm. Each individual knife is spring protected and quickly returns to work after avoiding an obstacle.

The SuperCut 25 knife model is available on indent and with a chop length of 40mm, offers a good solution for short crop. This system gives the operator the choice of engaging 25, 13, 12, 6, or 0 knives, giving maximum flexibility.

The PowerFeed Rotor intake of the RV5216R handles all crops and conditions with ease, leading to an impressive capacity. Its 13 rotor fingers literally force the material into the bale chamber for high intake speed and capacity.

Time-saving is again achieved via the parallelogram Drop Floor System. It provides faster and easier clearing of blockages, from the tractor cab. Vicon's patented system uniquely provides extra space under the front section of the floor for blockages to clear.

All machines in Vicon's RV5200 range are supplied with the Isomatch Tellus GO system. Its full ISOBUS terminal is able to control all Isobus machines in a simple way.

Its compact design and 18cm touch screen allows easy machine set-up and control. This could provide a first step into precision farming, says the company.

The IsoMatch Tellus Pro with advanced hardware and software features, provides the optimal precision farming solution, and is available at the time of order.
