Compact ChainBar for Brookfield

Brookfield’s new 4m compact ChainBar is small enough to be towed by a ute.

Brookfield has launched a new ChainBar more than 2m narrower than the next model up, saying the smallest model in the range is just as tillage capable as its older siblings.

Launched at the Henty Machinery Field Days, the D40 ChainBar measures 4m across, folds to a 2.45m transport width and a 2.3m transport height and weighs between 1.2 and 4.2 tonnes.

Made with a 150x150x6 SHS main frame, the ChainBar can fit Brookfield’s entire range of disc chains, and its fixed wings provide consistent ground following in tough soil conditions.

Depth control is managed through an individual swivel bearing height adjustment, while its adjustable front droppers help producers perform ground levelling all year round.

The compact model can be towed behind a ute for ease of transportation and comes standard with a 3-point linkage hitch for accurate height adjustment.

Brookfield says these features, along with its fast-vertical lift for easy turning, will help make the D40 a popular model in coastal and inland farming regions as “the most compact way to optimise soil health.”

The ChainBar can be used before, during and after sowing and is able to be operated alone or behind other implements, such as scarifiers, air seeders, offset disc ploughs and more to manage stubble, control weeds and prepare a paddock for seeding.

The next model up in the Brookfield ChainBar range is the D60-I, with a 6.1m working width, and goes all the way up to an 18.4m working width with the five-section D185D.
