New Deutz-Fahr is an all-rounder

Deutz-Fahr has reinvented the hydraulics on the newest model in its heavy-duty tractor range to better meet new farming challenges

Now available across the country, the 126 horsepower (94kW) Deutz-Fahr 5125G heavy duty tractor comes equipped with a series of new features to make farm work easier.

Australian distributor PFG’s product manager for Deutz-Fahr and Gregoire, Anthony Darveniza, says the new model replaces the Deutz-Fahr 5120C tractor series, with more horsepower and a new, on-demand hydraulic system.

“When you need it, it diverts the oil flow into your remote banks or into your front end loader hydraulics and goes from 56l/min to 90l/min, so it gives you more hydraulic flow,” he says.

“We have got three sets of rear remotes all with flow control on them, the previous model only had flow control on one set,” he says.

Darveniza says the system helps meet the growing need for more hydraulic flow from farmers operating attachments with higher power needs.

“The other beaut thing with this system is you don’t have to rev the tractor like a traditional open centre system to get the full hydraulic flow,” he adds.

A special engine speed programming feature also allows the operator to set and retrieve two engine rpms, switching between the two at the click of a button.

“It is like the cruise control in your car but for engine rpms,” Darveniza says.

“The other advantage of that as well is that the engine is continuously monitoring the fuel load to get the right horsepower and the right efficiencies into the engine.”

The tractor is powered by a 3.8 litre four cylinder diesel turbo engine, designed to operate free from AdBlue and diesel particulate filters and with easy access to radiators and air filters.

It comes with a wet clutch heavy duty semi powershift transmission with a five-speed modulation control and can reach a top speed of 40km/h.

On top of all this is the unit’s air-conditioned cab, which sits on Deutz’s Hydro-Silent blocks that the company says helps reduce noise and vibrations by 40 per cent.

It also comes with a high-visibility glass roof and a steering double displacement valve that, when engaged, halves the number of times the wheel must be turned to go from full lock to full lock – making loading work simpler.

With a base price of $113,190 including GST, the tractor has front dynamic fenders, front weights and a trainee seat with seat belt available as optional extras.
