Krone upgrades Comprima baler wrapper

German manufacturer Krone has upgraded its Comprima CV 150 XC baler wrapper, adding a Plus model with a reduced height, ultrasound sensor and cosmetic changes.

The Comprima, along with the company’s Fortima baler model, uses a slat elevator system and sits alongside the Krone’s VariPack belt baler which was released last year.

Krone’s assistant product manager Nathan Thomas says the Comprima CV 150 XC Plus is ideal for contractors and medium to large dairy farms.

“The new baler wrapper has been designed with strong components to successfully combat the most extreme farm conditions,” he says.

“Design changes including new covers, light holders and minor colour changes give the machine a more modern look and run in line with our current range of Comprima balers.

“The rear wrapper design has been updated and the overall height of the machine has been reduced.

“The Comprima Plus wrapper’s new ultrasound sensor replaces the previous sensor arms to easily identify if the bale is on the wrapping table and a wheel and rubber mat on the bale turner ensures a better turning process.

“The wrapping table’s deep cradle and big bobbins ensure the bale is consistently rolled during the wrapping cycle in tough conditions.”

The baler wrapper’s onboard hydraulic system self-regulates and prevents system contamination through its own hydraulic tank, pump, filters and valves.

Another new feature is an electric pressure adjustment system, which allows the operator to adjust the bale density while inside the tractor cabin.

Krone also says “uncompromised stability and convenience” were top of mind when designing the new baler wrapper.
