Mitas debuts high-capacity VF tyre

Mitas’ new tyre range offers up to 40 per cent higher load capacity than standard tyres, no matter the speed

Tyre manufacturer Mitas has developed a new range specifically for operators of self-propelled slurry tankers and as well as harvesting machinery and other heavy agricultural equipment.

The new HC 3000 R tyre range features very high flexion (VF) technology and rounded shoulder sections, as well as what will be the largest high-capacity tyre in the Mitas HC range, the new VF 1000/65R32 CFO.

Mitas agricultural tyres product manager Pavel Kott says that, unlike the brand’s other HC tyres, which are primarily used on combine harvesters, the new model was developed with self-propelled slurry tankers in mind.

“We developed this new tyre in response to market demand for a high load capacity tyre for slurry tankers, equipping it with a new and highly soil-friendly tread pattern,” he says.

Thanks to its innovative carcass structure the HC 3000 R can handle up to a 40 per cent higher load capacity than standard models, regardless of speed, which makes the tyre great for cyclic field operations where the load on the machine frequently changes.

Its gentle ground handling — especially when turning in fields or on grassland—is also an advantage, as are the tyre’s flexible sidewalls reinforced with VF construction.

As the tyres can be used at lower inflation pressure, HC 3000 R tyres also have excellent traction and reduced slippage, which results in better fuel economy and productivity.

“These features provide great benefits from the economic perspective and in terms of reducing environmental impact,” adds Kott.
