New Holland debuts round baler

New Holland's 125 fixed-chamber round baler features new styling, new shock absorbers and a redesigned slide shield

The Roll-Bar 125 stands out for its excellent flexibility with the combination of large floor roll, starter roll and the high tensile steel Roll-Bar bale rotation bars

New Holland has unveiled the successor to its best-selling BR6090 fixed chamber baler, launching the new roll-bar 125 fixed chamber round baler in overseas markets.

The manufacturer confirmed to Farms & Farm Machinery that the 125 model will not be available in Australia, only the 150 and 180 Roll Belt models will be sold here.

With the 125, New Holland has built upon the success of its predecessor with improvements made to the new iteration’s performance and durability, while also adding a host of new features to the machine.

Company spokesperson Felix Ramueke says the baler is the ideal replacement for the outgoing BR6090 baler.

“The best-selling fixed chamber baler on the market has a worthy successor in the Roll-Bar 125, which remains true to its strong heritage DNA,” Ramueke says.

“With new additional features and options, it is the right choice for farmers who are looking for a robust, simple and diverse baler, which feels home in all major crops and conditions – from dry straw up to wet silage.”

The baler is available in two variations – Rotor Feeder and Rotor Cutter and includes a large slide shield which provides easy access for maintenance as standard.

The slide shield has been redesigned and features new styling while a robust weld structure also ensures durability in the field. Top door hinges, wide opening and gas strut supports provide easy access service points for maintenance of the baler.

New Holland says the roll-bar 125 is a flexible machine, with the combination of large floor roll, starter roll and the high tensile steel bale rotation bars can form bales with a positive rolling action across a wide range of crops from dray straw to wet silage.

Modifications have also been made to the main frame of the baler with shock absorbers added on both sides between the frame and tailgate to safeguard a smooth closing of the machine.

Under the hood, high-grade drive chains with chromised pins and hardened plates deliver improved durability and performance while also reducing maintenance costs. The pins and plates have a longer life cycle than the previous model and new sealed bearings ensure dust contamination is kept to a minimum.

Rotor Feeder models will too be able to make use of the well-prove hydraulic rotor reverser with a free-run clutch ideal for easy unplugging with the rotor is blocked.

Lights have also been repositioned to accommodate for the side shields.
