Bobcat’s new range of zero-turn mowers lifts grass to the cutting blade as it keeps lawns in mint condition

Bobcat has launched a new range of zero-turn mowers, which are headed to Australia.

There are six mowers in the line-up, ranging from the ZT2000, described by Bobcat as having "commercial-grade features without the commercial-grade price tag" to the high-spec ZT7000.

Three of the six models are available with multiple deck widths to ensure the right fit for the job.

The ZT3000 has a width of 48 inches (122cm)

Bobcat’s top of the line mower, the ZT7000, has an overall length of 2.21m, deck width of 182.8cm and cutting heights ranging between 2.5cm and 13.9cm.

Fitted with a 999cc Kawasaki engine and 56.7L fuel tank, it can reach 30km/h while in transport and up to 21km/h while mowing.

By contrast, the ZT2000 has a 726cc engine, considerably smaller fuel tank of 14.3L and deck widths ranging between 106.6cm and 132cm.

It also has cutting heights between 3.8cm and 12.1cm while its overall length is almost 30cm smaller than the ZT7000 and its maximum speed less than half of its top-line counterpart.

The ZT7000 is Bobcat’s highest-spec model

A range of innovations have been added across the board by Bobcat though, including a bolt-on Air-Gap baffle system, which Bobcat says accelerates airflow for efficiency in the AirFx cutting deck.

"This system eliminates negative-pressure pockets and lifts grass up to the cutting blade for precision cutting and perfectly manicured lawns," says Bobcat.

Durability is helped by the company’s TufDeck and TufDeck Pro cutting systems, which are constructed with heavy-duty steel and have cast-aluminium spindles.

All models are also fitted with hydrostatic transaxles, which Bobcat describes as commercial grade.

Bobcat mowers are distributed by Bobcat Australia, a division of Clark Equipment.
