New Strautmann Verti-Mix ideal for small feeds

Now available through Inlon, the new seven cubic metre capacity Strautmann Verti-Mix brings the company’s mixing tech to smaller properties

Strautmann’s newly-launched feed mixer will be a boon to stud breeders and farmers with sheep or small herds of cattle.

The German-designed and built Strautmann Verti-Mix has performed strongly in Australia for over 30 years and the new seven cubic metre capacity Verti-Mix 70 is an exciting addition to the range.

The Verti-Mix 70 has a low power take-off requirement of 45 horsepower (34kW) so smaller herd managers can now enjoy all these benefits, even if they have a low-horsepower tractor.

The Verti-Mix 70 Vario2 stepped auger delivers fast mixing with optimal feed structure, which saves both time and money while improving nutrition, weight gain and fertility.

The Verti-Mix 70 is designed for trough or ground feeding

With the new model, Strautmann feed mixers now range from 7–45 cubic metre capacities in single, twin and triple auger configurations.

Strautmann product manager for Australian distributors Inlon, Shane Ryan, says the Verti-Mix 70 is designed for trough or ground feeding.

“It is ideal for backgrounding as grain can be introduced to the feed more quickly to promote weight gain,” he says.

“This compact feed mixer will suit stud breeders, sheep and goat farms plus smaller farms that want to supplement feed when paddock feed is in short supply.”

The Verti-Mix 70 has a 6mm wall thickness and 15mm-thick steel floor for longer life. A robust gearbox ensures durability through a large-sized pair of tapered roller bearings, double sealing, a large grease chamber and oil bath for the planetary reductions, extending the maintenance intervals.

Electronic weigh scales, a drawbar stand for parking, adjustable counter knives and an additional scraper are other features of the Verti-Mix 70 feed mixer.

The Verti-Mix range is renowned for its speed, efficiency and thorough mix of components. From breaking up whole bales and cutting hay and straw, through to incorporating silage, grain, minerals and concentrates, Strautmann creates a uniform feed ration without over-processing.

Uniformly mixed feed provides better nutrition, weight gain, fertility, improved feed efficiency and cost, and the opportunity to reduce wastage.
