Pottinger widens Terrasem seed drill range

A wider working width and technical advances to Pöttinger’s Terrasem seed drills mean the machines can now work even faster

Now available with working widths of eight and nine metres, Pöttinger’s Terrasem range of seed drills is predicted to hold even wider appeal.

The Terrasem V 8000 D and Terrasem V 9000 D are equipped with two metering systems as standard and both have a seed hopper capacity of 5,600 litres.

The metering system is designed to provide seeding at rates of between 1.5kg and 420kg at 12km/h, with the operator able to adjust the seed flow rate without leaving the tractor seat.

The Terrasem V 8000 D was designed for efficient, high output drilling

The operator can also vary between the application of different seed mixtures, or of seed with fertiliser or other components such as microgranules, using the Terrasem Z models with its fertiliser feature.

The metering systems are designed for the highest possible precision and ensure that exactly the right amount of any given seed type is used, the company says.

Pöttinger has also made the new Terrasem models agrirouter-compatible, and the units can also be custom-equipped to handle all manner of site-specific conditions. The disc harrow as well as the fertiliser coulters (D Z-machine) and dual disc seed coulters are mounted in an X configuration, and there is no need to grease the tillage tools because they are mounted on sealed bearings.

Pöttinger says that with the disc harrow as its leading tillage tool, the Terrasem seed drills are ideal for mulch drilling and are available with Wave Discs as an option for loosening the soil in strips.

The Classic version without tillage tools is also smooth running on prepared seedbeds, Pöttinger says.

With their large working widths, high operating speeds are possible with the best positioning accuracy.
