Hardi expands GeoSelect to trailed sprayers

More sprayers will now be able to use Hardi’s GeoSelect targeted spraying technology

Hardi showcased its latest range of products and technologies

Hardi has announced an expansion of its flagship GeoSelect targeted spraying technology, which will now also become available on trailed sprayers.

First introduced to the market last year, GeoSelect was only available for the manufacturer’s self-propelled sprayers but will now also become an option for Hardi’s popular Commander range.

Hardi’s technology works by firstly scanning the paddock with either a drone or even a plane for larger paddocks. The scan is then used to create a weed geolocation database that is transferred to the GeoSelect software.

The database is used to calculate how much chemical will be needed in the sprayer’s tank, recommending an optimum spraying speed at each point and controlling individual spray nozzles along the boom.

Hardi says GeoSelect has a 99.7 per cent hit rate and can reduce chemical usage by up to 90 per cent.

Another benefit, the manufacturer says, is the presence of just four GNSS units that continually geolocate the spray nozzles and eliminate the need for extra hardware and weight on the boom.

Hardi’s GeoSelect technology is now available on its Command range of sprayers

Hardi Australia chief executive officer Bill Franklin says he is pleased more farmers will have access to GeoSelect due to the Commander rollout.

“The current high cost of chemicals and the lasting benefits of putting less herbicide into the environment mean GeoSelect delivers growers a double saving and a huge return on investment,” he says.

“It means spraying can be done in less time, at less cost and with far less chemical.

“The accuracy and efficiency of GeoSelect makes the Hardi trailed sprayer range a logical fit for this new technology.”

The Commander trailed sprayers are offered with 6,500L, 8,500L and 10,000L main tank capacities and boom sizes from 30m to 48m.
