Remax estate agents say that currently 86 hectares (212.5 acres) of the property are under cultivation, producing zucchini and hybrid pineapples on its sloping red and grey landscapes.

The large residence is the standout feature of the property, boasting an impressive 349 square-metres, four-bedroom home.

The main dwelling features an ensuite and walk-in-robe connected to the master bedroom, a spacious formal lounge and dining area with an additional oversized laundry, kitchen and a 55-square-metre patio with views of the property.

Did we mention the master bedroom has a private patio?

The workers’ cottage does the job, with its cosy three bedrooms, a kitchen, dual bathrooms and separate lounge and dining areas, which makes for perfect living quarters.

In terms of water, the residence  connects to two 68,000-litre rainwater tanks while the crops are  equipped for all-year-round irrigation from two dams that hold 60 megalitres of water, which Remax says have the capacity to recharge twice per annum in average years.

In addition to the property’s impressive dams, Mahogany Downs is also capable of irrigating the crops from its 20m-deep bore which can pump 18,000 megalitres per hour with the option of a second bore available (currently capped).

Six PVC underground irrigation pipes run throughout the farm with 28 x 4 risers.

Despite fronting the Elliot River, unfortunately Mahogany Downs does not currently have a licence to pump water from the river.

In terms of facilities, the property has it all, offering an impressive 413 sq m packing and storage shed, accompanied by a 380 sq m main and 33 sq m skillion-covered loading bay.

A concrete slab floors the shed, which comes furnished with a lock-up tool room and three-phase power.

If you aren’t interested in the current owner’s machinery, and just want the farm as it stands, then you’ll have to fork out close to $1.4 million, which we think is quite the steal.
