The updated Polaris Ranger gets a shakedown from TradeFarmMachinery's quad reviewer Barry Ashenhurst.

If you've read the full review of the revamped Polaris Ranger HD1000, now you can see Barry Ashenhurst put it to work in his video review.

The ranger gets a good report from BAZ for its smooth power delivery and manoeuvrability, but reckons a couple of small changes could bring it up a notch or two.

"This model, the HD1000, is what Polaris calls the special model variant meaning it's tougher than the US model - because Aussie farmers are tougher than American farmers," Barry says in the review.

"Lack of power from the small diesel isn't a problem on paddocks, but the little donk can run out of puff if you're climbing a steep hill with two passengers and a load on board.

"That's the downside of having conservative horsepower."

Aside from a few too many plastic parts, Baz says the Ranger is well built, so it should be worth its while on a particularly rough farm.
