Over 2000 items for sale at Queensland auction after farm sale
Auctioneers will have a big job ahead of them when over 2000 lots go under the hammer next week, following the sale of a 160-year-old cotton farm near Goondiwindi.
A spokesperson for Lloyds Auctions tells TradeFarmMachinery.com.au that the family had sold the property to a larger organisation after deciding to move on, following major floods in 2016.
“After over 160 years of farming we are sad to come to the end of an era but it was the right decision,” a family representative says.
Considering buying a secondhand tractor? Here’s what to look out for
Among the equipment that will be up for grabs are tracked tractors, wheel tractors, prime movers, cotton trailers, planters, ploughs, grader boards, land cruisers, pipe, forklifts, implements and more.
They include a 2017 John Deere 8370RT, a 2012 Kenworth T909 Prime Mover, two 2015 Moore tipper trailers and a 2008 Caterpillar Wheel Loader.
Lloyds head of agricultural sales Glenn Screech says most of the auction lots will be going up without a reserve price, though bidding is already underway through its online division.
“We have already had 100’s of inspections on site in Goondiwindi with popular interest in the ‘ready to work’ fleet of agricultural, transport and earthmoving equipment,” he says.
“We expect the equipment to be sold nationwide not just on the Granite Belt Region due to the massive number of enquiries we have had on the website and on the phones.”
Inspections for the equipment are currently underway from 8am to 5pm daily up until the auction day of March 6.
