Spraying equipment specialist Silvan has released a new spreader – the Agrex Poly Hopper Fertilizer Spreader XL500 specifically designed to work with smaller to medium sized tractors.
The spreader has a load capacity of 350 litres with a PTO and linkage attachment.
Silvan says the new spreader is capable of effectively spreading a whole range of fertiliser and seed products and is a good item for small to medium scale property owners to have to build up soil production on their properties.
The Agrex XL500’s hopper is formed from corrosion resistant UV stabilised polyurethane with the addition of stainless steel metering and spreading discs for further protection against corrosion.
According to Silvan, the choice of material is key to ensuring longer machine life as corrosion caused by rust or aggressive fertiliser materials left behind in the hopper is almost always the cause of premature failure in spreaders.
The Agrex XL500 in its ready to use form is supplied with a one to one output shaft from the PTO to the spreader which rotates the spinner and agitator.
A manual control lever on the spreader is calibrated for the chosen quantity of application of the fertiliser and seed combination while a second control lever determines the spreading pattern of left, right and full area behind the spreader.
Options available include a one sided or double sided spreader attachment; a stainless steel agitator which fits into the base of the hopper; an additional mechanical control lever and a hopper cover to protect against rain and moisture.
