A long-running South Australian field day will not be held in 2026 after being placed into caretaker mode
Karoonda Farm Fair and Show will not take place next year, with a shortage of committee members forcing the event to be cancelled.
The event is held in the town of Karoonda, east of Adelaide, and celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.
It has entered caretaker mode for next year with organisers hopeful it could make a return in 2027.
“We acknowledge and sincerely thank the many volunteers who have supported and sustained this community event for 40 years. Your contribution has been invaluable,” organisers said.
“Efforts to recruit new committee members will continue, and we would love to hear from anyone willing to be involved for 2027.”
Karoonda Farm Fair and Show has been held in late March and has included machinery displays along with events such as the Karoonda State Yard Dog Championship and speed and sports shearing.
