The agenda has been finalised for this year’s Tractor and Machinery Association conference
The question ‘are we future ready?’ will be front of mind for attendees at this year’s Tractor and Machinery Association conference in Melbourne.
Limited tickets are still available for the conference, which will take place on Thursday July 24 at the Hyatt Essendon Fields.
The day will kick off with a presentation from Rabobank’s agricultural and environmental lead Lachlan Monsbourgh, who will discuss the future of farming and the role of data, particularly in an agricultural lending context.
One of the conference’s high-profile speakers is former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg, who is also the national ambassador for Grain Producers Australia’s Farmer Mates mental health program.
He will speak at the chairman’s dinner that night about the importance of mental health in rural communities.
In between, a series of presentations will cover everything from careers awareness to cybersecurity.
One major aspect of the conference will be the first look at key statistics related to the TMA’s industry-wide Careers Awareness Campaign.
Running since the beginning of the year, the TMA says the campaign’s first phase has reached more than 10 million social media and game users across Australia in an effort to broaden awareness of careers and opportunities in the industry.
Another speaker will be cybersecurity expert Jem Richards from Red Bear, who will discuss the critical issues of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in agriculture.
Seftons founder Robbie Sefton will also speak under the heading of ‘primed for progress: innovation, growth, and opportunity in agriculture’.
There will also be an economic update and conversations around precision agriculture and marketing.
The TMA says ticket sales have been strong for this year’s conference, which looks to surpass last year’s record-breaking attendance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
As official media partner of the conference, Farms & Farm Machinery will bring extensive coverage both on the day itself through our website and social media, along with in upcoming editions of the magazine.
