Farmscan Ag has launched its latest spray controller, the 74V1, saying its user-friendly design improves on the previous 24V1 model.
The 74V1 features a brand new display which includes a unique onscreen ‘Tile’ and ‘Tab’ layout that allows users to tailor their preferred view on its 4.3-inch colour touch screen.
Farmscan has also introduced the new ‘Smart Switch’, which provides complete control over any spraying implement.
The 74V1 can compensate for changes in speed, regardless of the terrain conditions, and is also able to simultaneously manage multiple tanks with individual rates, which Farmscan believes is perfect for dual rate systems
The 74V1 will also have the ability to load application shape files for Variable Rate Control (VRC) spraying.
Brad Petschel, of Brad Petschel’s Auto Elec at Hopetoun, says these new features have drawn farmers to update their previous Farmscan Ag controllers.
“Sales have been strong and the interest is getting stronger,” Petschel says. “The 74V1 does more than the previous controllers, it has different set-up functions for different applications and the new display is much easier to read.
“It has a few more features to do a broader range of applications, including liquid applications,” he adds. “You can also choose everything you want to have on the front screen – you can have your own set-ups; it is very user-friendly.”
Some of Farmscans ‘Advanced Control Features’ include the multi-step control system which automatically selects first, second or both spraylines to maintain the best working pressure, which Farmscan says results in smoother transitions between spraylines.
Farmscan Ag sales and service manager Ian Giles says the 74V1’s second sprayline, which activates automatically when the first reaches its maximum pressure, and its multi-step control are just some of the many features which simplify operations.
“It ensures better weed kill through better coverage and can reduce drift due to lower spray pressures,” Giles says. “The new 74V1 has been a long time coming, but it’s worth the wait.”
The Farmscan Ag 74V1 spray controller also features full serial commands and reporting capabilities, allowing GPS rate control and coverage mapping.
